“THOSE WERE THE DAYS!”
This week, Prime Minister Scott Morrison was accused of being racist after he was allegedly involved in a racial campaign to undermine a rival candidate in 2007. In early February, leaked text messages from several political allies accused Morrison of being a “horrible person” and a “complete psycho.”
Morrison told Babbler with a wistful smile, “Take me back! Back to two months ago when my biggest problem was some harmless name-calling from my backstabbing colleagues. Sure, there were challenges, but life was looking up. Jen and I were about to do that killer 60 Minutes interview, and my team had some great ideas for political stunts to appeal to women, like pretending I was a hairdresser.”
In February, the Federal Government faced numerous challenges including a crisis in aged care, a contentious discrimination bill, and their terrible management of the pandemic.
Morrison has rejected claims that he is racist and is deeply offended by the allegations, “I am not racist. And I am not lying about that, even though those leaked texts also called me a ‘hypocrite and liar.'”
Morrison is reflective, “February 2022. What a time! I miss those days. I also miss the days when a white man could say whatever he wanted about another person and not be held accountable. Like back in 2007. But no, how could I be racist? I make a mean curry.”
