Albo Promises To Match Morrison’s Meme-Quota As Satirical News Sites Report Sharp Decrease In Content
May 23, 2022

Since Scott Morrison was voted out as Prime Minister, less than 48 hours ago, political satirists have reported a dramatic decrease in the amount of humorous content they can create and post.

Morrison’s offensive rhetoric, political stunts and general out-of-touch nature, provided meme-makes, comedy writers and satirists with enough content to fill their platforms daily. Now, these creatives are concerned that their inspiration might have dried up.

Babbler’s editor-in-chief said, “Morrison was a gift. Just when we thought he couldn’t get another thing wrong, he razed that child to the ground like a bulldozer.”

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is committed to matching Morrison’s meme-quota, “It will be difficult. But don’t forget, I love to DJ and I can’t remember facts and figures. And I have no doubt that as soon as you get me on the international stage, there will be some awkward footage of me attempting to dance at a Pacific Island Conference.”

For now, staff at The Betoota Advocate, The Shovel and The Chaser are dining out on election content, but once Morrison is hiding in his half-built chicken coop, there are genuine fears that they will not have anything to write about.

A spokesperson for The Betoota Advocate said, “We are worried. Our only hope is if Dutton ends up leading the Opposition. We have enough potato gags to last another three years.”

Babbler’s editor-in-chief said, “It’s ironic that even though Morrison did everything he could to put creative people out of jobs, he has unknowingly kept thousands of creatives employed, just to make fun of him.”
