Prue Bouffant, 45, just watched television series The White Lotus. The show, set in an exclusive holiday resort in Hawaii, has inspired the Property Developer to go on holiday.

“I love getting away and experiencing other cultures. I’ve been to resorts all over the world; Fiji, Bali, Thailand, the Maldives. The people in these places are always so welcoming. You can’t step out of your Bure in Fiji without thirty people saying ‘Bula!’ – the gardener, the maid, the bartender – everyone loves you.”

Since finishing the HBO series, Prue has been busy researching exotic resorts and planning her next escape.

“The Belinda character on White Lotus reminded me of the friends I’ve made on holidays, especially the girls in the Spa. I had a facial from a woman in Phuket – her name escapes me – that changed my life.”

The White Lotus explores the darker sides of resort life, including power and wealth imbalances, and the impact of tourism on locals.

“It’s sad, isn’t it?” Prue says, “So sad that we can’t travel right now. A luxurious island holiday is just what I need. As soon as the borders open, I’m getting a first-class ticket out of here. Who knows, maybe I’ll try the White Lotus in Hawaii.”
